Brett doing what he loved best.

I just wish I'd had a chance to tell him all the things I never got around to saying

Brett and I had a funny relationship. You know how it is with big brothers – we weren't friends exactly. But I used to buy him stuff – like his favourite lollies which were those pink musk sticks. I wouldn't give them to him nicely, just toss them into his room on my way past. It was how it was with us – kind of our way of saying we cared.

I walk past his room now and realise I'll never do that for him again. It really hurts.

I found that we were starting to get a lot better in the last few months before he died. I guess I was growing up more and I didn't seem so much like his kid sister.

Brett was always my hero. I just wish I'd had a chance to tell him all the things I never got around to saying.

I love him and miss him every day.
