You’ve come a long way since you first started your Road Trip.

Now you’re on the road with your P2 licence. You passed the hazard perception test and you’re getting closer to your open licence.

If you were under 23 when you first got your P1 licence you need to hold your P2 licence for 2 years.

If you were 23 or older, you only have to hold your P2 licence for 1 year.

That changes if you incur demerit points.  …
Say, for speeding.
But you won’t …. will you … will you?

Many of the same restrictions from your P1 licence still apply including having zero blood alcohol concentration whenever you drive.
And there are still restrictions on high-powered and performance vehicles if you are under 25.

You must display your gorgeous green
P-plates when you drive, even if it clashes with your outfit.

And make sure you carry your driver licence when driving.

Now you’re more experienced you’ve earned some freedoms too.

For starters, you now have no passenger restrictions. Which is great. But the risk of being in a serious crash increases when you have passengers, so don’t let your friends distract you.

You can also use a hands-free phone now.
But keep it to important calls, and don’t dial while driving. If you don’t have a hands-free, remember to pull over to make or take calls or read and write texts.

You’ve come a long way on your Road Trip. But you never stop learning to be a better driver.

So drive safely and look forward to
finishing your Road Trip with your open licence.

More information is available on this website.

Welcome to your P2 licence

You’ve come a long way since that day you applied for your learner licence. Your open licence is just around the corner. Now you have your P2 licence there are no passenger restrictions and you can use a hands-free mobile phone. But you’re still quite inexperienced and in a high risk group of drivers, so take care and keep learning.

It’s important that we can keep in touch with you on your Road Trip so be sure to let us know if you change address.

There is more information in the P2 pit stop tasks.
