Adding LifePIX
Creating a LifePIX is divided into five steps to make the process easier. The steps are:
- Write what you are Here for – Here you can write a brief title for your LifePIX and a description. Simply provide a title and write the description in the provided form – it is a good idea to read the guidelines prior to writing your LifePIX so you know what to write.
- Add photo to your LifePIX – You need to add a photo as a requirement to uploading your LifePIX. To select your photo simply click ‘Browse’ and search for a photo on your computer (you must have permission to use the photo). When this is done, select ‘Upload’. Next you can crop your photo to fit within the sampler on the homepage (a square) – the minimum size is 250 x 250 pixels. Also remember to provide a Photo Caption.
- Labelling Story – This step helps users and visitors find your story easier in the search options. Simply select from the provided options on the page or add your own labels.
- Preview – This step shows you how your LifePIX will appear including all the information you have submitted. If you are happy with the preview and have read the Terms of Use, click the Submit button to continue.
- Success – This page lets you know that your LifePIX has been sent for moderation. It will also ask if you would like to allow your LifePIX to be used for further marketing by the Department of Transport and Main Roads. It is not compulsory to agree for your LifePIX to be approved.

Images and ‘Alternate text’ tags
Where images have been used we have added 'Alt' tags – text alternatives so that you can still see what the image is meant to convey if you have chosen to browse with the images switched off or you are using something like a screen reader to read the web page. Images submitted by users may not supply an ‘Alt’ tag or do not have enough information to explain it correctly. If there are images that you require more information for, please contact us.
